About the project
The Jervis Bay Road and Princes Highway intersection upgrade includes space for a multi-modal transport facility. This is a place you could travel to and then catch a different type of transport such as a bus or share a ride with a friend into a nearby town in a safe and convenient way.
The facility would help deliver the goals of the Future Transport 2056 plan and Transport’s ’Roadmap to 2020’, a 20 year roadmap for the Princes Highway upgrade to provide more equitable and safer access to public transport and improved regional transport services. It would supply more bus stops and parking facilities to better meet the needs of all transport customers in Greater Nowra and the Bay and Basin area.
In early 2021, the community had their say on the 16 Regional Cities Services Improvement Program which aims to improve public transport services across Greater Nowra. Key themes raised included:
- Provide regular and frequent services, especially to the Bay and Basin area
- More bus services to connect to train services
- Shorter journey times
- More services at a reasonable cost.
This feedback is being considered and Transport’s approach to a multi-modal transport facility at this location would support the objectives of the 16 Regional Cities Services Improvement Program to improve regional bus services in Greater Nowra to better meet customer's travel needs.
We are inviting the community to fill out the below survey to help us plan Transport’s approach to a multi-modal transport facility at the Jervis Bay Road and Princes Highway intersection.
